Sarah Carpin is a British journalist and radio broadcaster who lives and works in Seychelles as the manager of the popular national radio station 'Paradise FM'. Married to Andrew, a Seychellois, they live on the island of Mahe with their young family. Photographer Paul Turcotte is a Seychelles-based photographer whose work has appeared in many international magazines and in guidebooks. He has also been heavily involved with film production for companies shooting on location in the region.

I enjoyed the book, has a lot of detailed history for seychelles which i was interested in. Has lots of pictures too, but could have had more pretty pictures of the towns and beaches in particular. Overall i was impressed with the book, since i usually do not read because the books are booring. Sarah is a good writer and really tries to pull you into the local culture and way of life of the Seychelles. It helped me decide that this is a place to visit only if i can afford it. I am not thrilled with the fact that LGBTA rights are not respected in places like seychelles and maldives as far as the country goes, even though many go to to the resorts. I really think something needs to be done immediately to fix the human rights issues in all countries around the world. This book is very honest and I am glad i know the facts before visiting.
