PERFECT!Not to be cruel on Ho to Draw Manga but most of the books point of view-excluding the subject of it being girl or guy titled for the specific sex-this book finally gives a better detailed view of male prospective.Out of fantasy as to the warring states area of Japan, their system is predominant male as to battles, soldiers and assassins so you gte a more detailed layout as to how they appeared to look, details each specific hierarchy, their hairstyle and such ^.^So I love it and more so because I'm more of a shounen artist and nothing is ridiculously and needlessly perverse for its really unrealistic and then LOGIC dictates as to survival gear then stupidity.I've bought enough of these books and its by far a fav of mine and a great guide

The book is very helpful as it teaches aspects of designing ninja and samurai characters. Plenty of ninja and samurai variations are included which contain different types of ninja clans and different class levels of samurai. Toward the end of book are tips and examples on how create unique character designs. Overall its a great book for artists and I strongly recommend

Probably the best book by Misrach since The Beach. This new body of work is incredible. The large format of the book also helps. Highly recommended.

Hmm. The large format invited easy damage. Images just did not register with me. Gave the book away.

Lovely book. A bit larger than necessary but smaller may not conveyed Misrach's point. The photographs are all of people floating in the ocean, alone or with others. Isolation, loneliness and yet at the same time, life despite the odds in this vast universe. The book is not a little mysterious. And who doesn't like a good mystery?

Ilaria Capua is "Revolutionary Mind" for 2008. This acknowledgement was granted by "Seed Magazine". The American magazine of science and technology each year selects 5 leaders in the international scientific community who have most influenced our opinions on the world, the mind and the universe. In 2006 virologist Ilaria Capua was studying samples of avian influenza from Africa. The World Health Organization asked Capua to deposit the genetic sequence of one of her samples into a database to which only a select few laboratories had access. She balked. "I said, 'Wait a minute, we're talking about a serious potential threat to human health. We know very little about how this virus is moving. Not enough scientists have had the opportunity to look at this virus.'" So Capua opted to put the sequence in GenBank, an open-access database, where it was downloaded 1,000 times in a single week. Capua's small act of rebellion was just the spark for a much larger challenge to the system. She started speaking out at meetings, urging her colleagues to stop putting their bird flu data in private databases. She joined forces with Peter Bogner, a strategic consultant, and a number of other virologists to establish the Global Initiative on Sharing Avian Influenza Data (GISAID), a consortium that facilitates collaboration among researchers and requires members to make their work on the virus publicly accessible. Capua hopes the work she's done to open up bird flu research can serve as an example to scientists studying other infectious diseases. Jean-Claude Bradley, a chemist at Drexel University who coined the phrase "open-notebook science," agrees. "That's where open science can really have an effect," Bradley says, "in research on disease processes. We could really use more people who are doing what Capua's doing.
