In SEP I left my job of 27 years which was at the end of a forty or so year career in IT. Much of that was unpleasant, long, rewarding and challenging, but never true to my core interests; I just happened to be good at IT. Richard Leider has put together a very simple book with some manageable steps to re-start your life, doing what you actually enjoy. For three months or so I've been working through the process of trying to figure out what is next on my own, and also working with a professional firm which focuses primarily on getting you back in the work force. I ordered this last last week and it's helped me focus more than any other approach over the past three months. Reading "Life Reimagined" is like having a nice thoughtful person listening to you and being supportive of your interests, your need to do something really important and enjoyable for YOU in the time you have left. It's thought provoking enough that one would benefit reading it long before being Social Security eligible.

Life Reimagined: Discovering Your New Life Possibilities by Leider and Webber is a disappointment. The chapters cover the right topics: the pros and cons of aging, discovering your true passion, re-imagining your life, and trying out new possibilities. And the authors have a good overall plan for doing this work - stay curious, reflect, connect with others, expore, and then experiment with some new things. But the content is handled in a very superficial way. Even the interviews with people about how they re-imagined their lives are done in a superficial way - as if the interviews were conducted through a couple of short emails. The results, I'm sorry to say, are rather insipid.The topics in this book are important and deserve more serious treatment. If you want a more in-depth approach to this kind of work, I recommend that you try other books. Aging as a Spiritual Practice: A Contemplative Guide to Growing Older and Wiser by Lewis Richmond and Travels with Epicurus: A Journey to a Greek Island in Search of a Fulfilled Life by Daniel Klein are both much better options to consider.

Nothing new or useful here. Lots of stories about and interviews with others and virtually no exercises for you to put recommendations into practice. Continually refers to the related website, assuming you are entering your fears, hopes and personal plans there. If that's your style then just go to the website and skip the book altogether, although based on the book I'm not sure how much value the website offers.

The book is basically a process of exploration and reflection, encouraging you to try different things and see how they work out. It seems a little bit pretentious (repeating "Life Reimagined is ..." over and over), but is basically sound. Not sure I like the AARP connection, though. They don't really represent senior citizens or retired folks - they just want your money, via insurance, etc. So be wary of the constant encouragement to visit "their" web site. It's another way to give the AARP your email address, and get a bunch of junk mail in return.In short, the book does the job if you are a self-starter and need to make a change. It gets you thinking about alternatives, and trying them out. The book "Life by Design" (by Tom Ferry) provides a more rigorous method, and is more likely to get you the results you want, especially if you want to make a radical change.

This is a book for people in a life transition. I found it fairly basic and simple. It provided some nice exercises and challenges, but nothing very profound. The concept has become a movement in some areas, so it may act as an intro to more comprehensive support and involvement. It is a good intro to how to think about transition and how to work through exercises to determine your core values

This book paints a new picture of retirement. It casts a new light on that time in everyone's life. Past books, movies, TV shows and all other media say retirement is a time to go off, fish and wait your time to die. This book challenges people to look at things differently.It is a mere shelf help book. You won't find anything earth shattering or life changing. The book has some very entertaining stories mixed in all throughout the book. The authors present a new way to at retirement. They call retirement a new start instead of an end. The whole program calls for people to reflect, connect, explore options, choose options, repack things, and then act. I know that sounds very simple. Once you read through the book you will see things differently. This new look will cause you to rethink options, see new things.It is a great book for all, whether retirement is tomorrow or years away.

I am currently taking a 9-month leadership course with lots of assigned reading; we were also charged with finding books to read on our own. This one caught my attention in the AARP magazine (full disclosure: I am only in my late 30's, but I am an AARP member because my husband is over 50 and we joined). This was the first book I read during my course that actually got me excited about change in my life. I found that most of the book offered concrete examples and tips, and generated excitement for me without trite platitudes (I should say that late chapters seemed to rely a bit more on such platitudes, but most of the book did not; it just drops off a bit towards the end). I also went to the Life Reimagined website and used many of the assessment tools, which are user-friendly, helpful, and kind of fun, to boot. I recommend checking out the book and the website, no matter how old you are. The messages and tools are timeless.

Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867–1957) was born in a log cabin in the Wisconsin woods. With her family, she pioneered throughout America’s heartland during the 1870s and 1880s, finally settling in Dakota Territory. She married Almanzo Wilder in 1885; their only daughter, Rose, was born the following year. The Wilders moved to Rocky Ridge Farm at Mansfield, Missouri, in 1894, where they established a permanent home. I had enjoyed reading Little House in the Big Woods and Little House on the Prairie. On the Way Home is a bit different -- not stories but the actual diaries of Laura Ingalls Wilder on her and her husband's move to Mansfield, Missouri with their daughter Rose. I found this fun to read, along with Rose Wilder Lane's additional commentary. Fans should find this book indispensable.

Five stars because anything about Laura... is fascinating, and interesting, to continue with her life story. Looking at her life from an objective viewpoint, I wondered about some of her decisions, but at the same time those were not easy times and she took the best way she knew. I would like to own anything she has written including a new followup book, and I'll wait until the price is down on that one.

Frankly, because of my own history of having to move 1,000 miles away from my family and childhood home after marriage, this book made me sad in many ways. I kept wanting Laura and her family to go back to South Dakota, and live near the rest of her family. It took a lot of courage back in Laura's era to make such a move, knowing they might never see their family again. People couldn't hop on a plane and be somewhere the same day. It does show the devotion she had to her husband, and the life he chose for them....life was tough on the side of a mountain!

This was a very short book, but as a lifetime Laura ingalls wilder fan, it was worth reading. It provides an account of what happened after the end of "the first four years". However if you want something more in depth, you might want to try elsewhere.

A simple read, but even as an adult I greatly enjoyed Mrs. Wilder's descriptions and accounts. This book makes a great addition to any Little House lover's library.

I have read all the Little House Books. Now Laura is moving to Missouri.

Was excited to get this book it was 1 of 2 that I needed to complete the series. I have been looking for it to read to my grand daughter just like my grand mother had read to me.

This is another of the scant handful of great books on insurance sales. It ranks alongside those of Ben Feldman, Sid Freidman, and Frank Bettger. This 4th book was published shortly after the death of Mr. Savage. While there are many great books on selling in general, there are few that address the real unique problems of selling intangibles such as life insurance. IF you can find a copy of this book at a reasonable price it is worth every dollar. Mr. Savage's other books, The Easy Sale, It's Getting Easier, and High Touch Selling are all recommended reading as well. High Touch Selling is the mostly readily available of the four and is very good for insurance sales. Best wishes in insurance sales.

John Savage was loved by his customers because they knew exactly why they purchased life insurance. His excellent examples of explaining the need for life insurance in terms that everyone can understand is fantastic.

Given the years of training and experience required to achieve a rudimentary understanding of the human body, pathology, formularies, case taking, etc. one cannot expect that a single book will provide all the answers. So, this book was written as an introductory short course to homeopathy. A teaser if you will. Nothing more and nothing less. Using the principles in the book to treat onself is OK if one has an understanding of anatomy and physiology, herbal medicine and can objectively and correctly diagnose onself. Medicine, traditional or alternative, is a multi disciplinary art learned throughout the life of the practicioner. One book does not a physician make. Bottom line... the course is pretty good and is a first step in discovering the power of alternative medicine. In this case, homeopathy. I enjoyed it.

I was surprised to see a product like this that was so inexpensive and useful. The corse work is very basic but for someone just starting it would suffice. Also the Information on the different remedies is good and handy to have on the iPad.

This purchase is a huge disappointment. I was expecting a more comprehensive materia medica and instead got something that would be acceptable for a grade-schooler. The table of contents is at the back of the book and it is poorly written. The punctuation and grammar need work. Very distracting to read when the writing is poor. The concept is good, but the product fell short of the mark.

Really wordy. Has some good recommendations, just too much philosophy. Holy cow. How does anyone think of all the words this site wants. Just good socks.

This book is one of those examples of "all good things come in small packages". It is a very pleasant read and excellent for reference. Besides the free format syntax, the book also explains other things such as the use and syntax of Built In Functions and some aspects of ILE. Highly recommend this book to anybody thinking of using RPG Free.

This is a very easy book to learn RPG from. It is explained in easy to understand terms and language. If you know RPG IV and are trying to learn free format this is the book to buy. I have met the author and sit in two of the classes he thought and he is easy to learn from and makes learning fun.

The book is well organized. Covers the basic topics in RPG free format.Served me as a good starting point for RPG Free Format.Doesn't cover advanced topics such as DDS (Display Files, Printer Files, Phisycal Files or Logical Files) and SQL as well.

This book is good for the developer that just needs to know the new syntax for the opcodes and new %BIF's. The examples are clear, but not every situation. I think overall it was good. It took me from standard RPG IV to free format and it was pretty painless.

This is very similiar to other products which try to cover every model year. It is OK in terms of the general views but not very detailed for instance, I could not find any information on the location of the light for the auto transmission indicator panel, and had to go to other sources. This was also the case with specific engine and other interior items. If you have nothing, then consider where you want to spent your money. There are more detailed manuals available but at a much higher price. If you plan to restore your car or perform major work, look elsewhere.

I bought this service manual to find help trouble shooting TCS and ABS fault warnings what a waste of money all this manual does is tell me where to find the control module.I was looking for help with trouble shooting methods for the braking and traction control system not how to find the module, this manual is a total waste of money.

Was to cover years up to 1996, but only went up to 91. Does me no good, as my car is a 1995

I am doing a rolling restoration on a 1987 corvette. I bought this book to help me; it has...Some of the chapters, such as engine overhaul, is very detailed. However some are really lacking details, the chapter on brakes is very limited in the details needed to do the job.I have read the entire book and it is good and helpful, but inconsistent with the details. If you get lucky and your projects are well detailed you will love it. If not, then this book is not for you.Cormorant71

Wow, great deal for the money. This was perfect and answered all of the questions I had about my vehicle. Easy to follow instructions with illustrations. I would buy this again.

This is a great book for minor repairs if you are fairly handy fixing cars. The better book, but usually much more expensive is the shop manual for your car. It explains in great detail exactly how to fix everything on the car. this book is a good starter book.

The pictures are a nice selection of easy and more challenging, but marker bleeds through the page and make the picture on the other side unusable.

My grandson loved the coloring book

This is a fun coloring book. It gives nice suggestions on how to color the pictures. I found my child also loved getting "creative" with the colors. We used sparkle gel pens and had a lot of fun.
