I have been using these All About Me posters for years! I just purchased a new set to get ready for the next school year. It comes with a teacher's guide and a sample, but I am a creature of habit and use them the same way every year.I teach fourth grade, and I have a corner of the classroom dedicated as a Student Corner. This is where the kids can post things they are proud of, either school-related or not. I have an area for this poster, with a bulletin board border around it. I start the year off with a poster about myself on there. It is up there for Meet the Teacher, as well as the first week of school. The kids love reading it and learning more about their teacher!Towards the end of the first week of school, I assign a student to be the first featured student of the year. I give them the poster to take home, and they have several days to complete it and bring it back to school. Then their poster takes the place of mine as the student feature. Then again, in another week or so, I assign another student to take a blank poster home, and the cycle repeats until every student has had a chance to fill out a poster and be the featured student. When their poster comes down, I give it to them to take home.It is always exciting when a new poster goes up. I usually have a crowd of students standing there reading it, learning more about their classmate. The featured classmate feels special for that week, as he/she usually gets comments from the other kids or questions.I love the open-ended questions on this. While some are straight-forward like what grade they are in and when their birthday is, questions like "I am a star because....." or "I show others I care by...." really has the students looking within themselves and being able to brag on themselves a bit. It's really special. Students who are super-creative may color theirs and even decorate, but that's not required for those kids who have no interest in that. For the "This is a picture of me" section, some students attach an actual photo, while others draw a picture of themselves. They can really personalize it however they'd like.You get 30 blank posters in the package, as well as a teacher's guide and a sample. It has worked really well for me in the years I've been using it.

This is the third time I have ordered these for my 2nd grade classroom. I love them because the students can do most of the work on it independently to help us learn more about the. I also love the parts where they have to write reasons about why they are a star, how they show they care about others, and three fun facts about themselves along with the usual favorites. Caregivers love these because they don't have to come up with a pinterest-worthy poster with all kinds of pictures and decoration along with thinking up what to put on the poster. I will keep ordering these for my classroom. Bonus that there are 30 in a package to accomodate growing class sizes in Utah! Love this product.

These posters are great! They are poster-sized, despite what the product description said when I purchased the item. Admin requires me to have a "random" Star of the Week, and because I didn't want to spend my own time and resources planning it I chose to use classroom funds for these posters instead.They are great! I send one home on Friday to the student I "randomly" select using equity sticks, and the student brings the finished product back by the following Friday to present to the class. So far everyone has loved filling this poster out. Some students drew pictures, some colored, some did a mix of both. It's a great organizer and style to be accessible by my early elementary kids who are just learning to read and write but would be appropriate for upper elementary as well.It's a super well-done and thoughtful poster with a lot of room and space for student creativity. I recommend it highly and will repurchase . . . even if admin stops this requirement!

This product is a bargain. The posters are large and printed on heavy quality paper. This is a great "get to know ya" activity and also a wonderful way to pre-write for a personal narrative. After students complete this "All About Me" poster, have them write a timed-write personal narrative to help them better understand (and practice) the importance of details to make writing more descriptive and informative. I gave this to a teacher, and her class had a blast using these in a writers workshop. I also gave one to each of my kids and told them to take their time completing it and decorating it with style and then give it to me as my Christmas present. They were so excited!

My students love decorating these posters when they are the "Star of the Week" in my first grade classroom. I send the posters home a week in advance so parents can help their child fill out the poster at home. We display these posters in class and put them in a book for Open House. Students love looking at these posters and they become a keepsake for parents. The quality is great and I will continue to purchase these every year!

SIZE: These are POSTER size, they come folded in fourths. The second photo shown in the description is misleading, as it shows the size of the product as it is folded...NOT the whole poster. Personally I was hoping for poster size when I ordered these! They are huge, and wonderful, and are going to be so much fun for back to school! Also being this size makes the writing space much more age appropriate as I teach 3rd grade and they tend to write largely.USE: I plan to use these as a getting to know you activity for beginning of year and hang them in the hallway for Open House. But could be used for Student of the Week as well.

Last year I bought this poster set and loved it! It took my class almost a week to finish and they were so proud. Fast forward to this year when I am about to reorder and I now see that these are the size of a standard sheet of copy paper. This is not a poster. Why would anybody pay that much money for a class set of copies? Plus it takes out all the fun of it because it's not big anymore. BOO. Very upset.

This book was impossible to put down, and even harder to read quietly to myself. I kept grabbing my husband and saying, "Wait, you have to hear this." I read this at the recommendation of a friend as a lark. Before reading it, I didn't have any particular feelings about reincarnation. Sure, it is a cool idea, but I'm a highly skeptical person. Even after reading it, I still feel highly skeptical, but I'm also highly intrigued. What if...? Richard Bullivant has done a ton of research before writing this book. The stories he shares are engaging. He answers all of the "but what about..." questions that popped into my head as I went along. Now I can't wait to read his other reincarnation book to see even more stories. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but some of the 'evidence' that the reincarnated subjects offer, like that from a three-year-old boy in the West Bank, sent shivers down my spine. It is easy to dismiss people who claim to be reincarnated celebrities (though he makes an interesting case for one), but when someone claims to have been a nobody in a small town and can lead researchers to things that have been hidden for centuries...goosebumps. Whatever your beliefs, this is a fun read.

I like to keep an open mind, as nobody knows anything about religion, much less about what's "beyond"-whatever that is.This book presents some interesting ideas that the reader may or may not accept, but that should, perhaps, consider.In my opinion, the Catholics said it best with their mantra: "Let us proclaim the mystery of faith."When it comes to spirituality, Heaven, the afterlife and all other metaphysical explorations we can think of...we are all on the outside looking in.Enjoy your reading. Keep an open mind.

Now, I cant say I am a profound reader in this theme yet reincarnation is intriguing topic for me and this book is for sure intriguing as well. For sure different approach compared to what I have found in other books on reincarnation and NDE I have read. Will make you think deeper, for sure.

As a Buddhist and an enthusiast of reincarnation choosing this book came naturally. I like and believe stories about reincarnation, how others experience other lives and what those other lives mean.In fact I’ve written about reincarnation in my novel The Stain so it comes as no surprise that I enjoyed this short book on cases of reincarnation.As a person of science however, I have a few complaints about “True Reincarnation and Past Life Stories.” First, the addition of alien abduction smears the major message of reincarnation, stretching readers’ hearts and minds. Enough for the majority of our population to contend with an extreme belief such as reincarnation. It’s too much to ask in the same text for a belief in alien abduction.Best not to quote scientists in such a context unless you really really understand the science. The statement, “but after the work of AlbertEinstein and others showed that time is a ‘relative’ quantity or phenomenon, that time is fluid, canflow backwards and forwards, and is not linear at all – well, the implications for reincarnationbecome obvious as well” leaves me as a reader wondering if this really is obvious.Most of the experiences seem gained through hypnosis which leaves so many unanswered questions again: how does hypnosis work? What are its parameters? How does one test for truth?Finally, Dr. Finklestein, one of the psychiatrists Bullivant quotes has some bad press from one of his would be patients who says, “I was just doing some research online when Dr Finkelstein's name popped up and with that a most unpleasant memory of feeling completely ripped off by a so-called respectable doctor.”It’s a good idea to delete expertise from experts who have caused such uproar.Overall I enjoyed the few pages in the way that I enjoy hearing stories about reincarnation. Would I be convinced if I were not already? I think not.

I really enjoyed this book! Author Bullivant who is no stranger producing books about paranormal subjects has several other well received books based on paranormal topics which aptly acquaint readers with his assembled presentation of fascinating real life stories all of which are well researched and well recounted.Although, a rather short book it was engaging, and thoroughly compelling to read, not only by virtue of the intriguingly contentious subject matter but also by virtue of the provocative real life cases which are presented, in his writing style which is comfortably appealing to read. The stories span from older documented cases to more modern cases including individual cases, group reincarnations, other planet reincarnations and more, all which present a pretty convincing case for reincarnation. What I found especially interesting was the chapter on the Science of Reincarnation, it was truly thought provoking.Overall this was a great little book that readers will find is well worth the read, and I definitely recommend this book as a must read for both believers and skeptics as both could learn from it. A good mix of history, places to see, things to do, sample itineraries and maps. If you're looking for hotel or restaurant recommendations then this book is not for you.

Insight guides to South America. This was not a good book to use as a travel guide. It lacked basic information for anyone travelling to this area. We returned the book and got a partial reimbursement. Warren N Billings

Interesting background information is included on the continent of South America. Beautiful illustrations accompany the text.

Heard it was very well written and illustrated.

Great guide book! We are going on a cruise and this book is perfect for cruise-type touring giving an overview of the places to see in each country.

I like the Insight Guides: good information with beautiful pictures. They often don't have (in my view extreme) details about each sight/site, but just enough to make a decision on whether to visit or not. However, after traveling with two other IGs around Asia recently, I noticed how heavy they are compared to others. So I'll read them at home and then take others with me.

A very brief discussion for the traveler to all South American countries. For more detail, need to buy books specific for the countries you are visiting

This book tries to cover too much territory and therefor can not cover anything in the detail I needed for planning my trip to South America.

pooled ink Reviews:Atticus has earned a place on my shelf as a poet able to craft words in such a way that I feel understood. Some make me smile, some make me sad, and many feel precisely like what lies hidden inside but am too hesitant to voice. They make me feel and they make me think. Much of his work comprises of very short and simple love poems, but whether he fills an entire page or chooses only a pinch of words, there is a depth behind each thought. It’s difficult to review poetry since it is a poet’s truth and a particularly subjective medium, so all I can say is that I adore this collection and hope you might too.

I was so excited to get my hands on the book yesterday and I spent the afternoon reading every line. I look forward to re-reading, softening the pages, and wearing the spine out for many days to come.Some complained about the poetry styles. I appreciate the modern, unstructured, non-traditional poetry written by the younger poets now. Words don't have to be cumbersome, lengthy, and overly complicated to be beautiful and meaningful. I have throughly enjoyed the messages without the hard traditional lines and lengths.Truly, the words on their own are impactful. However, the deliberate choices of fonts and images truely represent the tone of every indevidual poem.Thank you for writing this.

I normally wouldn’t waste my time returning something so cheap. However, because this “book” of “poems” is so incredibly terrible and I honestly don’t want someone to ever pick it up off of my bookshelf thinking it’s worthy of sitting besides works of real authors, I am. I wrote better poetry when I was 10 and had my first big crush one someone. I mean, I might have somewhat enjoyed it then, but I don’t see how anyone else could possibly call this anything but a waste of time & paper. I got through the first 150 pages in about 15 minutes and couldn’t even bring myself to get through the rest of this garbage. Idk if I had a glass of wine too many while reading the reviews or what tf happened but I somehow missed the only accurate ones- the ones that says it’s AWFUL. if I could give this zero stars I would.

This is the most beautiful book I own. I have an addiction to reading Atticus poetry on Instagram and now have these wonderful stories in the palm of my hands. Every page of this book is beautiful and makes me so excited to turn the page. This will be my favorite new gift to give to loved ones. Don't pass this book up I promise you will be pleased.

Atticus somehow captures an infinite amount of emotions in very few words. His poems are feelings I had in my heart but could never express. This book is full of warm fuzzies, heartbreaking passion, and endless love. It shows me how I want and deserve to be loved. This book could be read all in once or throughout time like his instagram posts and still have the same impact. I recommend this over and over to anyone that has loved, or been loved.

Beautiful pages for beautiful words. I love the construction and the originality of the illustrative element. The burst of poetry back into popular culture, often through social media, has been such an exciting development and Atticus brings a unique and eternally moving addition to that movement. Following his writing on instagram has been a pleasure and seeing those words put onto beautiful pages is so exciting. The main difficulty I see when these ‘hot button’ topics are discussed is that so many people don’t seem to realize that these haven’t always BEEN hot button issues! These used to be topics for whom the “right” answer was axiomatic. There is evidence right there of the massive and damaging cultural shift we have witnessed before our eyes. If you think it’s tough to navigate this upside down world as an adult, imagine what it’s like for a kid who is at school being indoctrinated by a secular culture whose values are 100% aligned against both the Gospel and natural law. This book arms you to fight the battle with your wits about you. It’s invaluable.

Amidst our shifting cultural landscape, a plot of solid ground is valuable real estate. This book provides the terra firma parents are seeking. It brings an abundance of Scripture and Church teaching to bear on issues, but its keenest strength is grounding its moral arguments in the natural law - the universal moral truths discerned by reason and known to consciences (Christian, theist, and atheist) the world over.Miller and Horn tackle ten issues: Sex outside of marriage, same-sex "marriage," divorce, contraception, abortion, reproductive technologies, modesty, pornography, transgender identity, and homosexuality. Each is addressed via the three-pronged approach of: 1) what the Church teaches; 2) how to address the topic with young children; 3) addressing it with older children. The book is written in Leila's melodic voice, but the brilliance of both minds is on display.As I said, readers are given a crash course in Scriptural passages and Church documents pertinent to these issues, but most helpful for parents will be the rubber-meets-the-road examples and faultless reasoning they can bring into conversations with their children, especially their teens. An example from the chapter on transgenderism:"When a person has a body dysphoria unrelated to sex or 'gender,' everyone understands that the person needs help. When an anorexic looks in the mirror, she might see someone who is obese, even if she weighs much less than everyone else her age. We don't tell that girl, 'That's right, you are overweight, and we will help you reach the weight that's right for you.' Instead we say, 'What you perceive yourself to be, well, that isn't you. In reality, you are dangerously underweight, and because we love you, we aren't going to help you harm yourself.' That is the loving response...."....[I]f we are rightly disgusted that a doctor would amputate the healthy limbs of a person who suffers from Body Integrity Identity Disorder [or trans-ableism], then why aren't we equally disgusted by doctors amputating the healthy genitals of persons who identify as transgender? This mental gymnastics of holding both positions at once (trans-able = bad; transgender = good) is not tenable, unless we completely obliterate in our own minds that man and woman mean something objectively, as we know that healthy and disabled do." (p. 210-12)That is powerful reasoning, one that any teen should be able to grasp and bring with her into conversations with peers of different religious and philosophical backgrounds. They also raised the example of Rachel Dolazel, the former head of the Spokane NAACP, a caucasian woman who claims to be "trans-black":"...[I]f Dolazel had claimed she was a black man, then her 'progressive' critics would have said she was half right. Yet, how can we tell a person she's wrong about her sincere sense of her racial identity, but right about her sense of gender identity - when both exist only in the imagination? There is no logic to saying we affirm your 'sense' of being a man but we condemn your 'sense' of being black. Your teens will see the contradiction here." (p. 211)Yes, I dare say they will.Miller and Horn have created a resource that will be cherished by every parent looking to raise their children on tried and true, solid moral ground.

Although I'm Catholic, I really think this book is a great read for anyone who's conservative, Christian, or simply follows common sense. Those of us who believe in reality (i.e. natural law) have wondered how we will teach our kids that the current culture of death and post-modern non-reality is nonsense. This book provides the answer.A much-needed, must-read book for our era of moral relativism.

This book is awesome! Explains the Church's teaching on all the "hot-button" issues in a clear and beautiful way. It gives two levels of explanations, for younger kids and older ones. I think it's great to help anyone understand these teachings, not just children. Highly recommend!

I struggle as a Catholic mom finding ways to teach current issues to my children in a child friendly way. This book is great. All the topics are relevant to today’s society and our Church. They broke the topics(see photos for topics) into 3 sections: church teaching, little kids and big kids. This is amazing because one size does not fit all. Each section has doctrine, relevant examples, and ideas for family teachings with ages to start teaching them. All the topics are ones they will be facing as they grow up. It is amazing to have a resource to guide my children down a faithful path. I recommend this book to every Catholic parent and educator. We are lucky to have such valuable information available in one concise book.Thank you Leila and Trent for helping me to help my children.

I actually sent this one back. I think the title is misleading because it sounds like it's a book for professionals (to me, at least). But it really is a book for beginning users of Illustrator. It says it prepares you for the ACP exam - which I thought must be difficult. But maybe not, because this book is really basic. I was looking forward to learning some advanced techniques and doing cool projects over the summer. But alas, it was not to be.I gave it three stars because it's probably pretty good for someone just starting out.

He’s gone through a number of enhancements that have made him stronger, faster, and smarter. That his body could put up with all these changes is a credit to the human race and pretty much astounds Doc Ma’Fredich. He’s now the equal in physical combat to Crusher, who is a massive alien, all muscle, and bred for fighting. He’s also a formable challenge to Lucky, who is a synthetic being made mostly of electronics and high density metal. He’s also a walking computer, but Jason doesn’t necessarily have to rely on him for that purpose. No, Lucky, is more a of mobile armor platform than anything else. So, Jason is in charge and has proven himself on numerous occasions.Now, they are off on another mission to transport and archeologist to a former dig to pickup some equipment and an artifact that was left behind in her hasty departure. Jason doesn’t really care what the archeologist needs to get or what she found as long as he gets paid up front. But, once a the far distant empty dust-ball of a planetoid, he finds that she hasn’t told him everything, as usual. He and his ship, the Phoenix find themselves being attacked by different factions for something they thing Jason’s ship contains. Jason and Twingo, his Chief Engineer, have pretty much taken the Phoenix apart and can’t find anything of particular value or anything that shouldn’t be on the ship. Then they bring this new artifact aboard and things start happening.The writing in these stories is so fluid. It’s very easy to read on of these books and I kind of fly through them. Fortunately, each book has been pretty long and that even ads to the story-line. There is just a touch of humor also in the story which helps a lot. It would seem to an outsider that Jason’s crew can’t stand each other, but as they are together on some lengthy space voyages, they constantly bicker to just keep themselves sane. They all know that what they say doesn’t matter, it’s what they do that counts and no one ever gets left behind. Jason can also figure out what’s going on with the people he helps and knows when he’s not being told the whole story. It’s the same with this Archeologist. Unfortunately for her, she gets caught in a lie that results in her death. Jason isn’t really sorry about it, but if she had been honest from the start, it might have been prevented.So, another good science fiction book for you to read. I’ve already bought the next one, “Omega Force: Redemption” and I’ll be enjoying it probably not long from now.

Before you start this book, please realize it is the sixth title in the series: you will need to read the previous books in the series in order to understand the back story and the characters.Without having a spoiler, if you enjoyed the previous books in the series you will probably like this one but there were quite a few scenes I just didn’t believe and it seemed to get “stuck” in a few situations – but since I did like the continued interaction of the characters I kept on reading.. I picked this up for 99 cents during a Kindle promotion vs. the normal price of $3.99, and I believe I received more than $3.99 worth of entertainment value out of it: if you enjoyed the first book of this series I am confident you will like this one, also.

Love this series! I hope Joshua Dalzelle keeps this going for a long time to come. I love spacefaring stories but they need to be believable to me and with characters that I can identify with. This series fits that to a T.The series begins on Earth with a normal human as the main character and from there it expands into space travel -- that is why it is so believable for me.Naturally it evolves into having alien characters as well, but the way they are introduced makes them also reasonable and believable. Each character has its own specific personality and the interaction between them all is what makes this series so much fun to read.If you like fun, exciting spacefaring stories that you can feel you are experiencing for yourself then I highly recommend this series.

Josh has done it again with book 6 of the Omega Force series. This was a great culmination of a lot of loose ends from the prior books. Josh has skillfully woven an exciting book full of intrigue, twists and turns and surprises!Who would have thought of going so far into unknown space, learning about a new extremely antagonistic race and avoiding them ( I hope more to come with them later) and the ultimate weapon!The visual images that he describes are fantastic. The interaction between the various characters really draws you into this story. There is plenty of action, intrigue, suspense plus a little romance. Enough for any avid sci fi readerI have throughly enjoyed this series and hope to see a lot more from Josh. These books rate up there with Heinlein and other great sci fi authors that I grew up reading!

I have been hooked on this series since I read the first book a couple weeks ago, just finished Secret of the Phoenix and starting OF7. As I continue through the series I love it more and more. What it all comes down to for me is the interaction between the characters. The competiveness between the "away team" of Crusher, Lucky and Jason, the interaction between those three and the more "nerdy" characters of Doc, Twingo and Cage. The best example is in the original Star Trek, the interactions between Kirk, McCoy and Spock were often laugh out loud funny, if you knew the characters.Joshua Dalzelle has put together an eclectic group of characters, that on the surface should not get along at all, and in the end they are like a family. I really like how things with Mazer and the Galvetic warriors have progressed as well. Bottom line for me is Book 8 could be "Omega Force: Trip to the grocery store" and because of the characters I am sure I would find it interesting and funny, This book tied up many loose ends, from the previous books in the series, and positioned the series for a whole new set of adventures.I was really happy when I read the authors notes at the end saying that he planned to write more than the seven that are already out, Also looking forward to reading "Call to Arms" which is the second book in the Black Fleet Trilogy - very different, but also very good. I will start that right after I finish OF7.
